The first inkling of my professional future happened on a cover shoot for Martha Stewart Living. I was a 19-year-old PA watching everyone else roll their eyes as a meticulous creative director moved a cinnamon stick millimeters at a time until it was just right. Did I think he needed to adjust it 16 times? No — but I remember gleefully agreeing that his first 11 nudges were integral to nailing the shot.
These days I'm probably going to AI that cinnamon stick...but I've happily built a creative career staying fully committed to the bit.
